The Canadian Kativik Local Government has announced that it has launched a tender for the planned Eastern Arctic Submarine Optical Fiber Cable System (EAUFON) project.
According to reports, the submarine cable system is about 1800 kilometers long and has eight landing points. It is expected to be put into operation for the first time in 2020, and then plans to connect more areas through expansion.
According to the plan, the tender is a turnkey solution being sought by the local government. The deadline for bidding application is May 15, 2019.
The local government said that the new submarine optical cable system was designed to further expand the bandwidth capacity to meet the growing user demand.
