The board of the European investment bank (EIB) has approved $25m for a regional integration project to finance the cape Verde undersea cable system.
It will connect cape Verde to the rest of the region through an undersea cable system with guinea-bissau and the mano river countries (sierra leone, Liberia).
Guinea's broadband operators Guineenne DE la Large Bande SA (GUILAB) and Cabo Verde Telecom have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for an undersea fiber-optic cable called Cap Amilcar Cabral, and a feasibility study for the system will begin in the near future.
